Speculation surrounding the renewal of the contract between Michael Schumacher and Mercedes gained new episode. According to the head of the German racing team, Ross Brawn, the seven times champion can play a role in your current administrative staff when announcing his retirement. The statement, however, has no connection with the renewal or not Schumi with the team, he says.
"It's possible," Brawn admits in an interview with the Daily Mail. "The day will come that he will have to stop, but we did not discuss this in detail because we do not consider this possibility at the moment," he says.
According to Brawn, the technical director of Schumacher in his seven titles in the category, knowledge and experience would be great triumphs of German in his new role. The ruling, however, does not know if Schumi could handle the day-to-day Formula 1.
"Michael has experience of the track, his trial would be an asset to any team," he says. "I'm not sure he could handle the day-to-day some of us stand, but I know he wants to stay involved. He loves the sport, loves to run and develop cars, how the team works, "he adds.
Despite speculation surrounding his final retirement, the greatest champion in the history of Formula 1 wants to remain in the category until 2014. According to the German newspaper Bild, Schumacher is excited about the new development program and Mercedes would have sent the renewal for 2013 with Mercedes, in their contract a clause that would allow automatic renewal for another year.
